Happy New Year fellow beauty addicts 👋🏽 This is my first blog of the year as i’ve just returned from sunning myself on a beach for my birthday 🙊
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and have had chance to try out all of the beauty treats which you got for Christmas. I have so many exciting treats to try out, from Santa Claus himself 😉👇🏼
I’ll keep you all posted as always on anything which is in my opinion ‘life changing’ or ‘worth splashing your hard earned cash on’.
So… New Year, new start and all that. This week has been rammed full of inspirational and motivational quotes everywhere we look, psyching us all up ready for our goals for 2017 💪🏼
If like me you’re in full January swing of making New Year’s resolutions (going to the gym, eating healthier, saving more money etc etc) and are full of enthusiasm (even though you’ve already broken at least one of them 🙈) then share your goals so we can all cheer each other on *waves imaginary fangirl pompoms* 💁
Here’s a few of mine:
- To get my butt back to the gym and spin ’til i’m thin, so that I can be a 2017 Summer hun 🚲👙🙋 (Eak committing to this in front of you guys kinda piles the pressure on)
- To push myself to do more of what I enjoy & learn more 🙌🏼 So today, I enrolled myself onto a Makeup Artist course. (I’m sure i’ll have blog posts to keep you posted on this one).
- Ok i’m going to make this my last public share, so that i’m not setting myself up for the ultimate public fail 🙈… but I want to learn some form of dance 💃 Waltz, Salsa, who knows… it’s on my 30 before 30 list and I always get jealous when people dance really good in movies, so I should really get cracking.
A New Year also means new beauty secrets 🙊 Let me know what products you’ve tried so far this year and ultimately what your beauty goals are for 2017! I’m determined this year to grow my nails 💅🏼. I’m full on allergic to acrylic and shellac and have been in serious denial about it throughout the whole of 2016 – I kept getting a cheeky set of acrylics or Gelish to see if I was *still allergic* 🙄 and instantly regretting it when my fingers started itching like crazy 🙈 Doh. Lesson learnt.
So basically, I guess my options are limited to either stick on nails, are they still a thing? There’s nothing cool about one of those popping off in public 🙈 or just nail polish… which hey wouldn’t be so bad, if my nails were strong enough to actually maintain any length 😭
But after a week in the sun, with constant bathing, an insane amount of hand moisturiser and not lifting anything heavier that a cocktail 🍹… my nails are looking healthier than ever. The challenge now is to maintain them. Sounds easy right? Trust me, by the end of my first day back at work tomorrow I will already of broken 2 🙈 *girl problems* … and I work at a desk! What is life?!
So, if any of my fellow beauty addicts have any tips, tricks or beauty secrets which can help me nail this *no pun intended* 😂 I’d much appreciate it!
I hope you’re all having a nice week!
